Carbon Nanotubes Arrays
Carbon nanotube technologies involve producing nanotubes specifically to meet desired applications.

Vertically aligned multi-walled carbon nanotubes arrays are grown on either silicon or quartz substrates. These could find applications in the production of novel composite structures, sensors, electro magnetic wave absorption and shielding etc. These arrays when used in the construction of laminates help prevent delamination as the nanotubes act as pins that hold the adjacent
lamella together. Further, the nanotubes in one particular direction help enhance impact resistance in a plane perpendicular to nanotubes and slow down any projectiles hitting lamella along the nanotubes direction.

Specially processed nanotubes with high conductivity are available for niche applications like solar panels.
